On the course you will learn to model, assign materials, light up the scene, do basic animation and to render your work as a final image.

Course program: 

  • Description of graphic environment, getting orientated in the scene, working with files, views, selecting objects   
  • Transformation tools: Move, Rotate and Scale tools, Clone tool, Align, Mirror 
  • Standard primitive objects. 

  • Extended primitive objects, grouping objects
  • Basic modifiers, working with modifiers and work with object elements,  vertices ,edges, borders, polygons, elements 

  • Creating a spline, working with points, types of lines
  • Working with text, options for rendering curves, the use text modifiers 
  • Editing curves, Editable Spline modifier
 Independent exercise 

Polygonal modeling

  • Basics of polygonal modeling
  • Edit Poly modifier object elements, vertices ,edges, borders, polygons, elements, selections in the Edit Poly modifier
  • Commands for work with points, edges and polygons

Modeling a robot or room for final project

  • Applying the knowledge gained from previous lessons.

  • Getting familiar with the concept and the role of materials, environment, Material Editor, Vray
  • Examples of basic materials and their properties. 
  • Maps and textures, examples of basic materials and their properties, UVW Mapping modifier

  • Concept and types of light (standard and photometric light)
  • Intensity, color of light and shadow, decline intensity
  • Basic principles
  • Jumping ball exercise
  • Setting a camera on a motion path

  • Introduction to the rendering panel and the Environment and Effects menu
  • Setting up the camera, adjusting the camera

Finishing the robot or room project



Upon completion of the course students will receive the internationally recognized Autodesk Certificate of Completion, as well as the Crater VFX Training Center Certificate.
