In this course for beginners, you will be introduced to working with the Photoshop program and, using various tools and techniques, get a broader view of the role Photoshop plays in the world of visual arts and media. Adobe Certified Instructors (ACIs) will make every effort to ensure that you learn to retouch, edit and prepare images for the web and use tools in ways that will develop your creativity. You will master vector graphics and paintbrushes, as well as the use of a graphics tablet, all of which will be put to use in furthering your career in 3D and the VFX industry.

• Raster origins – digital camera, scanner, graphics tablet, computer generated graphics
• Short history and description of use of Photoshop across various fields
• Hardware and system requirements for Photoshop installation
• Installation of the program and first steps

Beginning work in Photoshop, graphic surroundings, application of tools and program settings
Beginning with restoring default settings
• Getting acquainted with graphic surroundings and working with tools
• Recording graphic surroundings
• Manipulating the display on the screen
• Initial program settings (zoom, history, OpenGL support…)

Basic concepts, basic image corrections and Adobe Bridge
The basics of working in the Adobe Bridge program
• Basic concepts related to raster graphics (various formats in short, size, resolution)
• Retouching strategy
• Rectifying and cropping images using the following tools: Crop, Ruler and Crop and Straighten Photos
• Palette with a predefined library of colors
• Reading the values of the color components of a sample using the Eyedropper tool and applying the Color Sampler tool
• Selective editing of images using the following tools: Clone Stamp, Spot Healing Brush, Healing Brush, Eye, Content-aware fill
